Trinity Mettelholzer
Independence High School
When you hear what CIS graduate Trinity Mettelholzer has to say about her hopes and dreams for the future, it’s no wonder she wants to have a career in nursing. Trinity graduated on June 12 from Independence High School and will enter the Honors program in Pre-Nursing at North Carolina Central University this fall.
“In the future, I hope to make a strong impact in my community by helping others around me,” Trinity said. “This has always been a dream of mine, because giving back is the best way to show my gratitude and appreciation for others.”
Trinity’s CIS Site Coordinator, Terese Minerick, reinforced the picture of how others see Trinity when she described Trinity as “a vibrant and determined young lady with an infectious personality, who is known for her kindness and compassion. Trinity is the kind of person who encourages others to be their best selves.”
Clearly Trinity is already having an impact on those around her! Now she has the opportunity to take it to the next level as she pursues her nursing degree. Trinity appreciates how CIS and Ms. Minerick have helped her to grow and explore new opportunities while leaning in to her passions. One such opportunity that proved to be incredibly impactful for Trinity was the year-long Difference Makers® CLT leadership program that CIS offers to high school juniors, in partnership with the Gambrell Foundation.
“While in CIS I have gained access to different life opportunities that I never would have expected,” Trinity said. “It has made me aware that there are so many different ways to go about my life. My CIS Coordinator, Ms. Minerick, has meant so much to me in an academic and personal way. She always encouraged me to continue with my education even when things get tough. She made it clear that life can get hard, but not impossible.”
We believe all your dreams are possible, Trinity, and wish you a wonderful college experience at NCCU. Get ready to soar with the Eagles!
