At each elementary school site we serve, the CIS “safety net” includes, but is not limited to
- Providing case management and dropout prevention for students
- Working with school staff to monitor students' attendance/promotion/academic progress
- Participating in School Intervention Team meetings aimed at assessing students' needs
- Participating with and serving as a resource for CMS/Juvenile Court-led Truancy Court
- Identifying special needs and referring child/parents to outside agencies as appropriate for basic needs
- Coordinating recognition programs for all enrolled students around academics, attendance and behavior
- Coordinating and working with community partners to offer enrichment and resource opportunities
- Developing relationships with varied human service agencies to enable coordinated delivery of services to students to address identified issues
- Partnering with existing school volunteer coordinator to create additional volunteer roles and opportunities
- Coordinating annual college and/or career awareness focus
- Coordinating and/or supporting incentive and recognition programs
- Offering opportunity for enrolled students to be involved in community service projects
