Individuals:
- Breakfast or Lunch Buddy – Be a positive adult role model for an elementary school student
- Reading Buddy - Work on reading skills with elementary school students
- Tutors/Mentors - Needed for students of all ages
- Classroom or Group Tutor – Tutoring a small group of students
- ThinkCOLLEGE® Program – Volunteer with our ThinkCOLLEGE® & Career Center, based at Freedom Regional Library, next door to Phillip O. Berry Academy. Volunteer to help with our Financial Aid workshops or various special events.
- School Tools Campaign – We need individuals and/or groups to organize collections of school supplies to contribute to the School Tools Campaign during the month of August.
Businesses:
CIS needs businesses and corporations to:

Encourage employees to volunteer as tutors/mentors at CIS school sites

Provide "job shadowing" and internship experiences for middle and high school students

Volunteer as a motivational or career guest speaker

Civic and Faith-Based Organizations
We have formed enriching and mutually rewarding partnerships with several churches and civic organizations in the community. Your faith community or civic/social group can help Communities In Schools in the following ways:
- Encourage members to volunteer as tutors/mentors with Communities In Schools
- Collect school supplies for the annual School Tools Campaign in August
- Provide summer camp scholarships for students
- Establish a college scholarship fund for students through our ThinkCOLLEGE® program
- Sponsor a School - provide financial and volunteer support through our "Be A Partner" program
- Participate in Dine Out For Kids® - the third Tuesday in June each year
