To achieve in life and graduate with hope for living into their dreams, students need to grow in a caring environment and learn meaningful skills for their future.

For more than 26 years, Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg (CIS) has been providing this very environment for students in need. CIS connects students to a comprehensive combination of social, health, and academic support services. The CIS “safety net” includes mentoring, tutoring, health services, job shadowing and career exploration, parent engagement, college access and preparation, cultural enrichment and community service opportunities. Most important is the personal connection with a caring adult.

In the coming year, Communities In Schools will provide these services to more than 7,000 students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools – those students and families with the greatest need for intervention and support. Your year-end donation to CIS or holiday cards purchase in honor or in memory of loved ones, friends, and colleagues helps us strengthen this safety net of support for thousands of students.

About the Artwork
This year’s holiday card artwork is a collaboration of CIS students and Ms. Amie Taylor's art classes at First Ward Creative Arts Academy. It is the students’ answer to the question, “What does CIS mean to you?” They also captured what our staff members so strongly believe: that kids are indeed at the heart of what we do.

Special Opportunity this Year:  DOUBLE the impact of your gift - now thru December 31, 2012!
Gifts by new donors or increased gifts by past donors will be matched by a grant from The Leon Levine Foundation, if the gift is made by December 31, 2012.  Purchasing holiday cards also qualifies for the match if the “first-time donation” or “increased donation” grant requirement is met.*

*Please contact our Development Office if you'd like more information about this matching gift opportunity.

Please order Holiday Cards by December 14 to ensure holiday delivery!
Click here now to make a donation or place your order for cards!

For more information or questions, email Elaine Rhodes in our Development Office, or call 704-943-9433.

Thank You for your support!
