November 14-18 is "College Application Week" for many CMS high schools, and at South Mecklenburg High School, CIS Site Coordinator Michelle Lair is leading the effort. Lair says this is a stressful process for students and many of them don't have the support or resources they need to complete the applications.
"Here they have a little bit of time from their classes where they can come and get that support to have all the resources, both in people as well as in those tangible, practical things, like having internet and printers," said Lair. "And having someone who can go over that application with a fine-toothed comb and tell them the points they may have missed, things they need to work on."
