Communities In Schools offers corporations and employers the opportunity to enhance their workplace culture through community engagement while materially impacting student success in high poverty schools. We offer numerous ways to get involved as a financial supporter of CIS or as an active contributor in fulfilling our mission.

Sponsor Events

Your organization can increase its visibility in Charlotte and positively impact the sustainability and growth of CIS programming in our schools by financially sponsoring our agency-planned signature events.

We also welcome when companies support our students by coordinating a company-planned fundraising event with proceeds benefitting Communities In Schools. Company-sponsored and planned golf tournaments, luncheons, wine tastings, or family days at cultural venues or parks are greatly appreciated.  CIS staff members are often available to share remarks to guests at such events, if desired.

To learn more about these opportunities to support various fundraising and student recognition events, please contact Melissa Davis at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 704.943.9433.

Sponsor a CIS School Site

By funding a CIS Site Coordinator at a specific high poverty school, your organization can directly and materially impact the success of students who are at risk of dropping out of school for a myriad of reasons, including socio and economic factors. This funding opportunity is but one option available through our Partners for Success initiative, which involves your company and its employees in a worthwhile way to positively impact our community.

To learn more about financially supporting a CIS school site, please contact our Development Office at 704.943.9440.

Partner with a CIS School Site

Another way to get involved through our Partners for Success initiative is to commit to or “adopt” a CIS school site by providing volunteer and in-kind support that enables CIS to reach more students and give them hope for the future. By participating in Partners for Success, your organization and its employees have an easy way to make a difference in our community without having to research, coordinate and execute the community outreach on your own.

To learn more about how your company can volunteer in a CIS school site, visit Partners for Success.

Give to our Annual Campaign

Each year Communities In Schools works to sustain existing services in our high-needs, high-poverty schools and deploy funds where they are most critically needed.  By making a donation to our annual campaign, your corporate gift supports our mission and the students we serve who most need the CIS programming model.

Visit Donate Now or please contact our Development Office at 704.943.9440.

Matching Gifts

If your company provides a matching gift program as part of your employee benefits package, we thank you and hope that you will encourage employees through awareness campaigns to take advantage of this wonderful benefit. It’s an easy way for employees to increase the magnitude of their individual philanthropic impact on community.
